Officially going home for christmas!!! woot!  i had to forfeit all my Christmas presents but that's ok. I don't really need much anyways. So I am going to KC for a few days, then my dad's for Christmas then to Edmonton around the 27th - so you guys better be around (you know who you are)...

I am done with school finals tomorrow!!! Then about a week of just work and catching up and getting ready for next semester and our new staff members, etc.. which will be nice to just be relaxed and productive for awhile - then Break!!! I am looking fwd to Christmas with snow. We had some here but it's mostly gone again.. just not the same. Last week when we got two days of snow - it was craziness!! People do not know how to drive here. I have helped several people get out of parking spots and stuff simply because they thought they were stuck but really were just afraid of the ice. I felt like a super hero and was proud that I knew how to get them out successfully... haha... Also I got in a car accident the day it snowed.. My friend Brandon rolled his jeep in the ditch. I was in it, with two of our friends and it was kinda scary. Luckily (acutally its amazing) noone was hurt but I've never been in a car upside down before - and can't really say I wanna do it again.

Welp hope finals are good for people in school and it's almost break time!!

Here's some pics of things going on lately:

Thanksgiving night at a bar on the Plaza in KC - our Cheezy Christmas sweater contest

It is blooowing my mind how fast this semester has gone by. Next week is American Thanksgiving then there are really only 2 weeks of classes left. Holy crap! It is scary. I get to take a few days off and go up to Independence for Thanksgiving to hang with old friends and take part in cheesy christmas sweater parties!

I have been feeling extremely busy lately and I don't think that will stop until the end of the semester. Classes are getting crazy because my professors leave all assignments til the last minute. I hate when I feel more organized than my professors. Shouldn't they have figured out good lesson plans by the time they are qualified to teach masters programs??? jeez.

Yesterday me and six friends took a mini-road trip to Dallas Texas which is four hours away. Why, you ask?? To go to the AEROSMITH CONCERT!!!!! Yep, pretty much amazing. I haven't rocked out that much in awhile! Ha. Good times. My friend EJ ordered the tickets and he made us interview to get our ticket. So I went all out and gave him a road trip resume complete with references and list of road trip experience. As part of the interview we dressed up like 80's rockers for the show and had to make a poster we would take to the concert. Yesterday was the first time I had ever been to Texas, so my poster said: Steven Tyler popped my Texas cherry. ha. it was pretty funny. I got lots of laughs from the crowd around us. Fun times.

I am working on how I can go home for christmas. Right now my funds are not anywhere near enough to pay for a plane ticket.. so I am working on getting some people to go with me so we can road trip it.. but apparently it is snowing like crazy at home, so hopefully that won't be a bad idea. I really want to go home for Christmas, it would be really weird not to be with my family on Christmas day but we'll see....Anyone wanna go to Canada???

Think that is about it for now.

Well I figure that there is no better way to procrastinate on homework than this.

I have been living in Oklahoma for about 3.5 months now which seems craaazzyy that the time is going by so fast! I really love my job and find myself working in my office in my spare time because I WANT to not because I have to. So that makes me happy !! School is alright too. Some classes are harder than others but nothing I can't handle. Grad school is actually a bit easier than I thought it would be - which is good and bad at the same time.n17128864_31789482_7582

I have met lots of really fun people. I like all the Grad Assistants I work with and we have a good time hanging out in our "spare" time. My student staff is crazy and I love them! They call me "The Seal Killer" because one time I told them that we wear pants made out of seal fur in Canada to keep warm. I thought they knew I was kidding... they didn't. They even made shirts with seals on them and leave notes on my door and send me SAVE THE SEALS websites.. that's awesome. It was my birthday last weekend and that was a good time going out with friends here. Kinda different being so far away from everyone .. but hey it was fun. n17128864_31745052_7589 new

I am also really enjoying being closer to my Graceland crew. I don't have to miss out on everything now just because I am so far away. I get to see people on weekends and breaks and got to go to homecoming at Graceland and I love it. I just got back from two of my friends' wedding and it was beautiful and there were lots of other people there I miss too!! Everyone is getting married - which makes me sort of excited to one day get married and have a big party day and at the same time makes me want to throw up. So life is good and I like it. Lately I miss being at home and miss my family and stuff there.. but can't have everything right. so this is good for now.

THINK – SIMPLIFY - ACT. …. True Masters are those who have chosen to make a life, rather than a living. … Go ahead and do what you really love to do! Do nothing else! You have so little time. How can you think of wasting a moment doing something for a living you don’t like to do? The deepest SECRET is that Life is not a process of discovery, but a process of creation. You are not discovering yourself, but creating yourself anew. Seek, therefore, not to find out WHO YOU ARE, seek to determine Who You Want to Be  ---HAVE FAITH ---  Lift up your eyes and fix them on the place beyond the horizon to which you are sent. UNDERSTAND that the road to transformation travels both inward and outward. The road to transformation is the PATH of the disciple. … JOURNEY IN TRUSTI truly want what you truly want—nothing different and nothing more. My joy is in your FREEDOM, not your compliance … Know and understand that there will be challenges and difficult times. Don’t try to avoid them. Welcome them. Gratefully. The Laws are very simple. 1. Thought is creative. 2. Fear attracts like energy. 3. LOVE is all there is. … LISTEN. … Do not be discouraged. You have not been promised an easy path, but you have been assured that the Spirit that calls you will also accompany you.  ---  MY TIME IS ETERNITY ---  That Spirit is even now touching alive the souls of those who feel the passion of discipleship burning deeply within. … believe… Many others will respond if you are persistent in your witness and diligent in your mission to the world. - The purpose of life is a life of purposeLISTEN - You hold precious lives in your hands. Be gentle and gracious with one another. A community is no stronger than the weakest within it. … THINK – SIMPLIFY – ACT … Build bridges of understanding… embody the Spirit of justice, joy, hope, peace and love. .. It is for divine purpose that you have been given the struggles as well as the joys of DIVeRSitY . Listen to one another, without judgment or predisposition. Forgive by practicing forgiveness   ----  let the spirit breathe  ----  From the earliest days you have been given a sacred principle that declares the inestimable worth of all persons. Do not forget. Look carefully, listen ATTENTIVELY, and sense the Spirit among you… Live prophetically as a people who have been loved, and who now courageously CHOOSE to love others in the name of the One you serve. … You cannot make anyone else love you – all you can do is let yourself be loved … Fear less, hope more - Whine less, breathe more - Talk less, say more - Hate less, love more - And all good things are yours … LISTEN TO THE VOICE that echoes across the eons of time and yet speaks anew in this moment. That Spirit seeks to abide in the hearts of those who would embrace its call and LIVE ITS MESSAGETHINK – SIMPLIFY – ACTSo the question is not: Why start off on such a path? You have already started off. You did so with the first beat of your heart.  GOD SMILED - The question is: Do I wish to walk this path consciously, or unconsciously? With awareness or lack of awareness? As the cause of my experience, or at the effect of it? ….LISTEN….. The words to the next song you hear. The information in the next article you read. The story line of the next movie you watch. The chance utterance of the next person you meet. Or the whisper of the next river, the next ocean, the next breeze that caresses your ear—all these devices are Mine; all these avenues are OPEN to ME. I will SPEAK to you if you will listen. I will come to you if you will INVITE ME. I will show you then that I have ALWAYS been there. All ways. God is in the sadness and the laughter, in the bitter and the SWEET – share the peace - There is a divine PURPOSE behind everything—and therefore a divine presence in everything. Everything I experience, I experience through you. LISTEN.- The path will not always be easy, the CHOICES will not always be clear, but the cause is sure and the Spirit will bear witness to the TRUTH, and those who live the truth will know the HOPE and the joy of discipleship in the community of Christ … love is all there is.
